Way to go Luke! 🏃 💪🏻Junior, Alaric Knittel launched the javelin today 159-07 and earned a solid 🥈 2nd place finish!! 🏃‍➡️🏃‍♀️‍➡️The Flyers track team is back at it for day two of the 2026 State Track meet!

Yesterday, the boys 4x800 (Luke Miller, Lane McCune, Collin Randall, and Brody Sorensen) ran a season-best time of 8:26.93 to earn a 4th place finish. The boys 1600m SMR (David Walter, Tate Sorensen, Luke Peters, and Brody Sorensen) also placed 4th with a time of 3:43.30.

Rylee Peters (100m hurdles) and the girls 4x100 relay (Makenzie Scharberg, Cadence Hofer, Landrei Baker, and Vaida Ammann) also advanced to finals today with 3rd place finishes in the prelims. The HS Gym basketball court will be closed June 1, 2026 through June 8, 2026. Please stay off the court as it is getting refinished. Access to the elementary gym and HS weight room is still available through the elementary gym or Hangar doors.

Team Pep Rallies/Fan Gatherings: Malchow Plaza is available for team pep rallies and fan gatherings. The plaza will be reserved for all teams and fans to use at their convenience. Malchow Plaza is the headquarters of the tournament!

Sportsmanship and Standards of Conduct: Each athletic director, superintendent, principal and coach whose school participates in a tournament is charged with the important role of teaching the highest principles and standards of general behavior. The school administrator should never overlook any opportunity to remind and emphasize tactfully the need and value of proper respect for their opponents regarding their organized cheering activities, the decision of set officials and the importance of desirable and proper conduct both at home and away. We are sure that you concur with the Board of Directors in its belief that considerable effort should be exerted by tournament directors to promote the highest principles of sportsmanship in tournament sets. You are urged to give the officials your utmost cooperation in helping them to keep rowdy and unsportsmanlike conduct entirely absent from the tournament. If there should be any patrons unwilling to accept the principles of good sportsmanship or are some who desire to view the game while under the influence of intoxicating beverages, you should see that those individuals are evicted from the field.

🥎🥎The FMFA Phoenix are SoDak16 champs and state qualifiers! They won a thrilling 1-0 game over the #3 seed Deuel Cardinals. The Phoenix are headed to Aberdeen on June 4-6. Go Phoenix! 🐦‍🔥

🙌Congratulations to the Phoenix on two wins today in Hurley! The Phoenix defeated Viborg/Hurley 10-0 and Howard 21-6. Also, a shout out to Claire Loofbourrow for hitting 2 home runs and a grand slam! 👏 Congrats to Harli Ross on hitting a home run as well! ☀️ Way to go, Phoenix! 🥎

Congratulations to these two Flyers on qualifying for state golf in Brookings on June 1st and 2nd! Tannen Auch finished 10th and Trey Maske finished 20th in a very competitive Region 3B.

YESTERDAY in Alexandria, the Girls 4x200m relay broke their previous set record by almost 2 seconds with a new time of 1:45.77! 💨 🔥Rylee Peters also broke her own 300m hurdle record with a New PR of 45.73!💨 💪🏻 Alaric Knittel also broke his own record with a New PR of 165’9”! ✈︎Great season, Flyers!! 🥎🥎The FMFA Phoenix softball team defeated Scotland/Menno on a windy Tuesday night behind a dazzling complete game from pitcher Harli Ross. She gave up only one run over seven innings and fanned 11 Trappers in the contest. Aubree Tschetter went 4 for 5 in the lead off spot, and Claire Loofbourrow added 3 hits including another homer. Next up for the Phoenix is a Varsity only game in Tyndall vs. Bon Homme on Monday, May 18th at 4:30 PM. Go Phoenix! 🐦‍🔥🐦‍🔥

✈︎𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗠 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗦 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗! At the Cornbelt Conference today,the girls 4 x 100m relay not only 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗞𝗘 the meet record set in 1981 by Hanson, but they also 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗞𝗘 the FHS School record with a new time of 51.23.  🔥 🙌🏻Relay includes:  Vaida Ammann, Landrei Baker, Makenzie Scharberg and Rylee Peters!!
