Liz (Mayerlin) Lopez earned second place in the drawing contest, and seven other Freeman students competed in the 2023 ARTWARS competition on the USD campus today. It was a fun day for the Freeman students who attended!
Hats off to our School Counselor, Mrs. Kris Sweeter. This week is National Counselor Appreciation week, and we appreciate everything that Mrs. Sweeter does for our school!

1. Rebel Wrestling will go to the Parker Wrestling Tournament tomorrow at 10:00 AM instead of the tournament in Wagner.
2. The BBB Irene-Wakonda Classic scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to February 11, 2023.
Due to the expected inclement weather, the start times for boys basketball games vs. Avon tonight are being moved up. The JV game will now start at 5:45 PM with Varsity to follow around 7:00 PM. LiveStreams @ https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/freeman-high-school-freeman-sd
Due to high winds and blowing snow conditions, the Freeman School District will be closing at 12:00 pm noon on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023. All evening practices and activities will be canceled.

Here are the 2023 Junior Honor Choir delegates from Freeman School District with director Iwona Lewter. The group traveled to Rapid City this weekend for for rehearsals and gave an outstanding performance in the afternoon on Saturday, January 21, 2022. Great work!
Congratulations to our girls and boys basketball teams in their games vs. Menno today. The Flyers won all 5 games (Boy C, Boys JV, Girls JV, Girls Varsity, and Boys Varsity) - a clean sweep! Great work, Flyers!
BBB scheduled for tonight (1-19-23) in Menno has been rescheduled as a DH with the girls tomorrow night (1-20-23) in Freeman.

The 8th Grade Career Fair scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2023 has been postponed to Thursday, January 26, 2023 due to impending inclement weather.
The Freeman School District will start 2-hours late on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, due to blowing and drifting snow conditions on our township roads. Buses will run 2-hours late and there will be no breakfast served at school today.

Great job to the Marion-Freeman Rebel Wrestlers last night at the quadrangular hosted here in Freeman. The Rebels went 3 - 1 with wins over Chester, Garretson, and Viborg-Hurley-Irene-Wakonda. Great job, Rebels!
